The fine print, in plain words

Privacy

Weirdo Watch is built to need almost nothing from you. No account, no tracking, no quiet profile of how you read a clock. This page explains exactly what that means — in plain language, not legalese.

The short version

  • The watch face runs entirely on your device. The time you read and the puzzles you solve never leave it.
  • No accounts, no advertising, and no tracking cookies.
  • The contact form opens your own email app — your message goes straight to us, not through a middleman.
  • The one outside party your browser routinely contacts is Google Fonts, which loads the handwriting typeface.
  • You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, any time.

Who we are

Weirdo Watch is made by Brooks & Keitt, a small studio based in Switzerland. Where this page says "we," that's us. If you have a privacy question, the fastest way to reach a person is hello@weirdo.watch.

What this covers

This applies to the weirdo.watch website, the web watch and Challenge mode, and the Weirdo Watch iPhone app. It doesn't cover other companies' sites we link to — their rules are their own.

What we collect

The honest answer is: by design, very little.

The watch itself. Every equation is generated on your device, in your browser or on your phone. We don't see the time you're reading, the puzzles you get, or whether you solved them.

No account. There's nothing to sign up for, so there's no name, email, or password sitting on a server waiting to be lost.

The iPhone app. It works entirely on your device and asks for no login. Apple may collect standard information when you download it from the App Store — that's covered by Apple's own privacy policy, not ours.

In short: the watch doesn't watch you back.

The contact form

The form on our contact page doesn't send anything to us directly. When you fill it in and choose "Compose email," it opens your own email app with the message ready to go. Nothing leaves your device until you press send there. When you do, it arrives as an ordinary email, so we have whatever you chose to write — your name, your email address, and your message — which we use only to reply. We keep it as long as we need to handle your question, and not for anything else.

Server logs

Like nearly every website, our host keeps basic records when a page is requested — things like your IP address, which page you asked for, and the time. These are standard technical logs that keep the site running and secure. We don't use them to build a picture of you, and we don't sell or share them.

Fonts and other companies

We use Google Fonts to load the handwriting typeface (Caveat) and the body type. When your browser fetches these, Google's servers receive your IP address as part of the request — so it's the one outside party your browser routinely contacts on our pages. Google explains how it handles that in its own privacy policy.

Cookies and tracking

We don't set tracking or advertising cookies, and we don't run analytics that follow you around the web. If you add the web watch to your Home Screen, your browser stores the app's files on your device so it works offline — that's local to your device, not us looking over your shoulder.

Children

The Pop is made with kids and teens in mind, so this matters to us. Because the watch and the app collect no personal information and have no accounts, there's nothing for a child to hand over in the first place. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If a child writes to us through the contact form, we treat that message with the same care, and a parent or guardian can ask us to delete it at any time.

Your choices and rights

Because we hold so little, there isn't much to manage — but you're entitled to ask. You can ask what information we have about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop using it, and we'll respond within a reasonable time. Depending on where you live — for example, under Swiss or EU data-protection law — you may have further rights, including the right to complain to a data-protection authority.

Changes to this page

If our practices change — say we add a newsletter or a proper checkout — we'll update this page and move the date below. Nothing retroactive, no surprises.
